The Municipal Council of Maputo has ongoing of 460 million meticais
Due to the current situation, it does not allow the municipality to have loans. Said Matos.
The information was advanced by Armindo Matos, Councilor for Finance of the CMCM, during the last session of the Municipal Assembly, held between Wednesday and Thursday. Due to the current situation, it does not allow the municipality to have loans. Said Matos.
Armindo Matos explained that the main reason for delaying is due to non-payment of the Fund for Investment and Municipal Initiative (FIIA) which is not channeled regularly compared to the Fund for Municipal Compensation (FCA) which is constantly made available, since it is used to pay wages.
According to Armindo Matos, “the Municipal Council has ongoing bills with its goods and services suppliers, contractors of 460 million meticais (…) and this is due to the delay in disbursements from the FIIA.” However, in the same session, the CMCM revealed that it needs more than 100 million meticais to resettle the victims of the floods in Maputo.
