Multiple victims in a shooting at Michigan church

The shooter has been neutralized, the Grand Blanc Township Police Department has said in a statement

Several people have been injured in a shooting at a church in Michigan, the Grand Blanc Township Police Department said in a brief statement on Sunday.

The incident took place at a church belonging to the Latter Day Saints, the authorities said.

“There are multiple victims and the shooter is down. There is NO threat to the public at this time. The church is actively on fire,” the Grand Blanc PD said, urging people to avoid the area.

Videos circulating on social media appeared to show a large amount of smoke billowing onto the street, with a large number of emergency vehicles deployed on site.

Fox 2 reported that six to eight people were among the victims of the shooting.
