Société Générale Mozambique rebranded as Banco Vista under new management
The Société Générale Mozambique Bank has been rebranded as Banco Vista Mozambique, following the completion of the acquisition of 100% of its shares by Vista Group Holding.
With this change, Banco Vista Mozambique will now be led by Yao Kouassi, an Ivorian citizen appointed as the General Manager of Vista Group Holding, whose responsibilities in this capacity began in January 2024.
According to a source from the bank interviewed by TORRE.News, Banco Vista Mozambique will undergo a process of redefining its visual identity, an activity expected to take place over the course of a year. The same source indicated that changes are certainly expected within the bank, although they did not elaborate on specific aspects of the operations.
Simon Tiemtore, President of Vista Group Holding, stated that the acquisition of Société Générale Mozambique represents a significant step towards the group's goal of becoming a world-class pan-African financial services conglomerate, with operations planned in 25 countries by 2026.
"This new acquisition allows the Group to increase its support and impact on economic growth and financial inclusion in Africa," Tiemtore added.
Currently, the Vista Bank Group operates in five countries: Burkina Faso, The Gambia, the Republic of Guinea, Sierra Leone, and now Mozambique. Vista Group is owned by Lilium LLC, an investment firm based in the United States.
