Terrorists behead young man, spreading panic in Metuge, Cabo Delgado

According to Metuge district administrator Salésio Paulo, speaking to the newspaper 'O País', the incident occurred last Saturday. The terrorists attacked the victim, a young man returning from an agricultural production area known as Pulo.

"There is indeed a notable presence of terrorists in the district," stated the administrator, adding that "at this moment, some villages in Metuge are in turmoil due to the presence of these terrorists."

Paulo noted that the movement of terrorists in the area was also observed this Monday, but "since they entered Metuge, the only action that can be considered concerning is the beheading of a young man."

This situation has hindered the local population's ability to access their agricultural fields, as "they move more intensely in the villages located further south of the district."

Despite the presence of terrorists, Paulo assured that there is no record of people being displaced to other regions. However, some residents seek refuge in the forests at night, returning to their communities the next day.
