The district administrator confirmed the attack, stating that it occurred yesterday, Monday, February 12, at the Mazeze administrative post, lasting almost the entire day.

"They began moving around the district from February 3, and yesterday they attacked the headquarters of the Mazeze administrative post, where they destroyed various public and private infrastructures, including chapels and some residences of the population, who ended up fleeing to other parts of the district," confirmed Oliveira Amimo, the administrator of Chiúre, as quoted by "O País."

So far, according to the source, "the government still does not have many details because all public institutions in Mazeze are closed."

In addition to Chiúre, the armed group has also been conducting attacks in the Meluco district, in the central area of Cabo Delgado province.
