Mondlane promises gold and jobs in Niassa
Venâncio Mondlane, the presidential candidate for the PODEMOS party, during his electoral campaign in the districts of Maúa and Marrupa, in Niassa province, assured the local population that if elected, he would create jobs and facilitate the licensing of youth-led projects for gold mining in the region.
Mondlane explained that this initiative is part of a new fiscal policy his government plans to implement, allowing local communities to benefit from their natural resources rather than seeing them channelled to Maputo, as is currently the case. The aim, according to the candidate, is to ensure that the benefits of resource exploitation directly reach the inhabitants of the areas where these resources are located.
Additionally, Mondlane pledged to form an inclusive government that is independent of any political party, ensuring equal rights for all candidates and citizens. He criticised the partisanship of the State and emphasised that every Mozambican has the right to freely choose their party without facing retaliation.
The candidate also highlighted the importance of a government that respects religions and values its people, promising to create an inclusive environment for all sectors of society.
Mondlane continues his campaign in Niassa province, where he has already visited several districts and is scheduled to visit Lichinga and Lago in the coming days.
