Daniel Chapo promises infrastructure and development in Gurué

Daniel Chapo, Frelimo's presidential candidate for the upcoming October elections, promised today in Gurué district, Zambézia Province, to construct and rehabilitate access roads and health centers in areas lacking essential infrastructure. These statements were made during a rally at Gurué's municipal field, where Chapo addressed a large crowd, emphasizing the party's commitment to improving living conditions in the region.

The pledge to rehabilitate roads responds to the deterioration of key routes, particularly the stretch connecting Gurué to the municipal town of Mocuba, and other roads linking neighboring localities, which have hindered the movement of people and goods. Chapo also highlighted the urgent need to upgrade health centers, which are currently struggling to meet the community's needs.

"We will complete and pave the Nampevo-Gurué road. We will build health centers in five localities," Chapo assured, reaffirming Frelimo's knowledge of local issues and its commitment to resolving them.

In addition to road and health infrastructure improvements, the candidate promised to expand the electrical grid to communities without access to power and increase the supply of clean drinking water. Chapo underscored Frelimo's achievements in Gurué, such as the rehabilitation and expansion of water supply systems in the 25 de Junho, Escola Secundária, and Aeródromo neighborhoods, as well as the construction of new health centers.

During the rally, Chapo also explained the voting process and urged voters to support both him and Frelimo in the October 9 election. "Gurué must vote for me so that the district can continue benefiting from development projects," he stated.

Zambézia Province, traditionally a battleground for electoral competition between Frelimo and Renamo, is the country's second-largest electoral district, with 42 seats in the National Assembly. Chapo expressed confidence that his party would emerge victorious in the upcoming election.
