Renamo stands strong without Ossufo in Nacala
Renamo in the Nacala Porto district, Nampula province, has asserted that the absence of the party's leader, Ossufo Momade, who is also Renamo's presidential candidate, does not demoralize the campaign team, which remains "steadfast in the electoral campaign."
This stance was expressed by Gildo Ernesto, Renamo's district delegate in Nacala Porto, during an interview with TORRE.News as the campaign unfolded in the Triângulo neighborhood.
"The leader is not present, but this does not create any shadow of doubt in society or any fear of fragility just because the leader wasn't here at the start of our campaign," stated Ernesto, assuring that the party's activities continue without any disruptions.
Ossufo Momade's absence, who is only expected to return to Mozambique on Wednesday, five days after the official start of the campaign, does not seem to have raised concerns among party members on the ground.
According to Pilal Momade, head of Renamo's mobilization department in Nacala Porto, the lack of political propaganda materials, such as t-shirts and flyers, has also not negatively impacted the campaign.
"We are strong. The lack of materials does not affect anything because Renamo cadres and supporters know what they want. T-shirts and flyers do not decide the outcome on election day," declared Pilal Momade, downplaying the situation and emphasizing that the turnout at Renamo's rallies is a sign that the campaign is proceeding satisfactorily.
Although party members did not disclose the destination of Ossufo Momade's trip, it is presumed that it was a journey seeking international cooperation to bolster Renamo's performance in the ongoing elections.
The electoral campaign, which officially began on the 24th of this month, continues without major setbacks despite the mentioned challenges.
